My friend Tiago lend me a Parallax Ping))) ultrasonic sensor for me to try it out. Since I was playing with DDS we made a simple sketch to control the oscillator frequency using the sonar.
The result is a ‘kind of’ Theremin very simple to build. All I can say is that it provided hours of fun making noise and bothering people!
You can find the sketch files here: oscSonar.pde, DDS.pde. For further documentation on using Ping))) check:
Someday I’ll attach one of these to my car to work as a musical reverse parking sensor.

Hi Moiro,
I was wondering if you might be able to show the schematics of this project. I’m trying to replicate it for an school art project. I will cite all your work of course.
Thank you,
Botzi

The audio part is basically the same described here: http://mouro.info/signal-generator-using-arduino-and-dds/.
For info regarding the PING))) check http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Ping?from=Tutorial.UltrasoundSensor.
Hope this helps.
